june meeting news
This month we held our annual visit to Bridgnorth. Initially the group visited the area around St Leonards Church before splitting up and going to various parts of the high town.
We all met up in the Stable Bar of the Kings Head in Whitburn St, Bridgnorth, to compare our impressions of the evening.
We hope you all enjoyed the little walk, the sky wasn’t much to write home about, but at least it didn’t rain.
The monthly competition was also held in the Stable Bar. I’d like to thank the management and staff of the Kings Head for providing the room free-of-charge.
Although the subject was very loosely interpreted by some members, we had a very good range of entries and interpretations of the subject this month and almost everyone obtained at least one vote.
The ‘Monthly Competition’ entitled ‘Abandoned Buildings’ was held.
The winners were:-
- 1st - 'Gravely under Maintained' by John Horton
- 2nd - 'Roof Light' by Trevor Rowley
- 3rd - 'Underneath the Arches' by Joan Banks
Please note that entries (rectangular, up to 7 x 5 ins) for the Monthly competition can be made without mounts – when needed, mounts will be available at the start of the session.
NEXT MEETING
Our next meeting is back at the Birchmeadow, 31st July 2017 19:30. We will be discussing ‘Panoramics’, do bring your camera, weather permitting, we may nip outside… if you have a tripod, please bring this also.

Please also bring along a couple of images from our walk around Bridgnorth, if we get time we will be discussing a of them… either printed, or on a memory stick.
CLUB OUTING
In addition to our monthly meeting, we also have our summer trip, we will be visiting the Black Living Country Museum on Saturday 29th July - Meeting at the entrance at 10:30am. Please try to let us know if you will be attending, so we are not standing outside like wally’s waiting for someone who isn’t coming.
